The YTX14AH-BS battery made by Yuasa and also known by stock code YUAM62H4A is an AGM replacement for conventional wet batteries such as the YB14A-A2. Yuasa inc. is the largest producer of OE batteries for ATVs, motorcycles, scooters, snowmobiles and personal watercraft. You can use this page as a cross reference and comparison tool to find a name brand such as Deka Magna Power that may offer higher CCA and or amp hours, longer warranty, or more attractive pricing.

A Genuine ATV Battery

This YTX14AH battery is used extensively in the ATV market and can be found in the Kawasaki Prairie, Suzuki Quadrunner and King Quad, Polaris Sportsman as well as several other models, and a host of Yamaha machines with bear themed names. There are also a handful of motorcycles, snowmobiles and utility vehicles that require the use of this size battery. The original battery in most all of these ATV's was the YB14A-A2 with the left hand vent tube that spilled acid. Some of the Yamaha four wheeler's originally used the YB14A-A1 conventional wet battery which had a slightly different terminal design, but the same in every other metric. Today, there is no need to mess with acid as brands like Moto Classic and MotoBatt offer batteries that arrive fully charged and ready to install.

YTX14AH-BS vs. YTX14-BS

These two batteries often get confused and compared to each other. There are some similarities in battery specs when it comes to output, but dimensionally they are quite different! They both share the same 12 amp hours and 210 cold cranking amps. However the the 'AH' version is not as long and is much taller. Compare the length x width x height dimensions: 5 5/16 x 3 1/2 x 6 9/16 as opposed to 6 x 3 7/16 x 5 3/4.

A more appropriate comparison should be to the YTX14AHL-BS as it has the exact same specs and dimensions but is of the opposite polarity.

Cross Reference & Review

In addition to the two conventional batteries listed above the YTX14AH-BS can also replace the YB14-A2, YB14-B2. The Motobatt MBTX14AU is a great sealed AGM option as it has four sets of terminals allowing for accessories to be placed on the side not being used for the primary connection to the bike. The Moto Classic, using the same part number as Yuasa and the popular European brand Varta, offers a 2.5 year warranty.

The part number used by Walmart is the ES14AA2 and it is an acid filled battery. Power Sonic changes the nomenclature to PTX14AH-BS. The American made East Penn Deka (Magna Power) brand uses the ETX15 part number and a unique solid mold terminal. Universal Power Group (UPG) is another popular player in this market. They have merged their Adventure Power label with the Kinetik label and changed the part number from UTX14AH-BS to APTX14AH-BS.
