We do not recommend trolling boats use the same battery for both trolling and running auxiliary devices.  At  minimum there should be two batteries in the boat. Boats with 2 or more amplifiers should use a minimum of 2 batteries, one for starting and one for accessories. Battery gauges are recommended.  A small solar charger array is great at the dock for maintaining your batteries, but in reality will offer little advantage when out on the water for an afternoon fishing trip.  To extend your time on the water consider the Charge on the Run charging unit by Dual Pro.
