Faithful Obedience

Impact Battery #NoFearFridayWhen I started this venture nearly 7 years ago, I had to overcome the fear of failure & rejection. Was I willing to leave the presumed safety & security of full-time employment and follow what I thought the Lord was asking me to do? Did I have enough faith to trust God; to trust Him to provide for my family and to teach me how to run a successful company?

Fear held me back for a long time. While I wrestled with the idea and lived in my insecurity, I was miserable and despondent. Finally, I stopped avoiding, delaying, justifying and simply let go. I threw my hands up and trusted God with everything and created Impact Battery. Looking back, I may be able to argue that, perhaps, I was divinely pushed into taking the plunge, but regardless, I had come to a point of surrender and faithful obedience.

The Unexpected Journey

The journey has been exciting and scary. We strive to give back to God first and make an Impact in our community and around the world! Banks say keep your money. Investors shy away and don't see the connection between giving and blessing. Potential patrons turn their nose and ridicule our choice of charities. Those with an ax to grind search out my many faults and scream hypocrite! And yet many thank and encourage us to do more of the same. It is amazing how pride and fear (or should I say sin and lack of faith) continually besiege us and knock us off course! And yet through it all there has been a peace that surpasses all understanding.

At one point, several major calamities hit our company; one right after another leaving us on the verge of insolvency. I was told by the banks and other professionals that no small business of our size or age could survive that many disasters in such a short period of time. But I am witness to the Impact Battery miracles that transpired and give all credit to our faithful Creator.

Fear and self-doubt are debilitating and prevent us from taking hold of what God has in store for us. It is a tool of the devil. But God has not given us a spirit of fear, but one of love, power and sound mind!

As Impact Battery embarks on the next chapter of life, once again we face the familiar foes of fear and doubt. It is tempting to quietly hide away in the shadows and do everything in our power NOT to bring attention to ourselves and trust things will remain rosy. As I listened to Klove and the fall pledge drive this morning, I was struck by the term 'No Fear Friday' and thought to myself, "It is time to drive another stake in the ground and boldly declare the sovereignty of God and his ownership of this company."

Declaration from Impact Battery

Impact Battery 2015 American Dream LogoAs a business owner, I can no longer stand silently on the sidelines as I watch the moral collapse of this country. I recognize it is no longer politically correct to share openly your faith, let alone allow Christian values to govern in the workplace. Well, I am here to say I would rather be theologically correct than politically correct. As leader of this company, I am coming out of the closet and proudly declaring I believe in Jesus Christ, God's only Son who died and rose from the dead as a covering for my sin, so that I could have fellowship with a righteous God. Please allow me to introduce Jesus Christ, my LORD and Savior, and the rightful owner and CEO of Impact Battery.

No Fear Friday

To all you other Bible believing Christian leaders, I implore you to take a stand, come out of the closet, and let your light shine for the glory of God...Let us unite under one banner and boldly follow the One who was, and is, and is to come! #NoFearFriday
