AGM Solar batteries last 2-3 times longer than a conventional wet cell battery because they require minimal maintenance, NEVER require filling and WILL NOT leak or vent corrosive acid. AGM stands for 'absorbed glass matt' and are the superior sibling to the GEL battery which was the first sealed battery type ever made. AGM photovoltaic batteries took all the benefits of wet batteries and GEL batteries and created this user friendly type of sealed maintenance free battery. Typically AGM batteries are perfect for remote hard to access applications and where the batteries will stored inside since they do not vent to the atmosphere.
