The Moto Guzzi V65 was the natural successor to the V50, it is essentially a bored out version of that bike with a few cosmetic adjustments. That being said, after the V50 was discontinued Moto Guzzi found that they still needed a small displacement option for commuters who wanted a motorcycle for economical reasons or they would be losing a significant portion of their market share. Because of this the V65 was born, keeping to the cafe racer style of the V50, but with a little extra power to help get up those hills and for a little more comfortable cruise at speeds in the 55mph range.
