The Harley Davidson part number 65989-97 has had four OEM upgrades over the years. They append the letter A, B or C after the number when a newer version, with say higher crank, is available, while the physical size of the 65989-97 battery remains the same. Remember to take into account that the CCA is not the only metric you should pay attention to, the Ah is vitally important and arguably more important for a Harley motorcycle. If you can increase both these numbers from what the OEM specs indicate you know you have a solid Harley Davidson replacement battery that will stand the test of time. Our Baseline AGM flush-mount Harley battery is the EXT series by Deka Magna Power. Our advanced AGM product is provided by MotoBatt and Braille, with Braille being the best replacement option.
This battery was most often used with the Dyna and Softail series but can also be found in 883CC Sportster from 1997-2003.
