The Yuasa YTX14AHL-BS motorcycle battery (also known by stock code YUAM62H4L) is a premium Original Equipment (OE) and aftermarket replacement battery. As you read below and review the data, you will discover and be able to compare specs for all the 'challenger brands' to meet the standards set by Yuasa Inc. Yuasa is the #1 original equipment manufacturer of batteries for motorcycles, ATV's, motor scooters, snowmobiles and personal watercraft. Impact Battery has replacement batteries that compare favorably on all or some of the most important metrics including price, CCA, AH, warranty and location of manufacture.

This dry charge AGM battery is the maintenance free upgrade for the conventional YB14L-A2 and YB14L-B2 used heavily by Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha throughout the 1970's, 1980's and 1990's. Even though AGM technology was not invented until the 90's (Many of the 900cc Triumph motorcycles came stock with this battery as early as 1991) it can easily substitute for one of these conventional batteries without fear of harm to the bike or machine. In fact, we can take it one step further and promise you will appreciate not having to mess with acid when you purchase one of the new sealed AGM versions provided by Moto Classic, for example.

YTX14AHL-BS vs. YTX14-BS

Even though these two batteries DO NOT even share the same footprint (5.31 x 3.5 x 6.56 inches vs. 6.0 x 3.44 x 5.75 inches) and have opposite polarity, people still seem to get them confused. The 14 and 14AHL are NOT interchangeable and should not be used to compare specs. If anything this battery should be compared to the YTX14AH-BS which is identical in size and output, but simply has opposite polarity. The negative terminal is on the right instead of on the left. The original specs indicate this battery has 12Ah and 210 CCA.

Cross Reference & Review

To fully cross-reference the YTX14AHL-BS battery would mean the list would be extensive as it replaces several wet conventional types as well as dry charge and sealed AGM batteries. As mentioned earlier the YB14AL-A2 is the primary battery from years past that this battery replaces.

The MotoBatt MBTX14AU is also a great choice with its advanced AGM Power Balanced design with QuadFlex terminals. Universal Power Group also known as UPG, used to label their replacement battery as UTX14AHL-BS or stock code 43025. They have since merged with Kinetik and go by APTX14AHL-BS.

MotoCross, made by Yuasa, uses the same part number but instead of using the YUAM62H4L stock code uses instead M62H4L--trading the YUAM for M. Power Sonic replaces the YTX portion with PTX while others replace the first three letters with CTX. The the American made Deka Magna Power line of batteries use EXT15L as the part number of choice.
