This battery is popular and used widely by Honda, Kawasaki, KTM and Suzuki motorcycles as well as numerous ATVs. Impact Battery has replacement batteries that compare favorably on all or some of the most important metrics including price, CCA, AH, warranty and location of manufacture.

Chances are if you are looking for a Yuasa YTX9-BS AGM battery then you probably own an older Honda vehicle or Suzuki street bike. Yuasa first made this JIS battery size for Honda in 1986 for the TR200 Fat Cat. Internally, Honda refers to this battery by the following part number: 31500-HN1-003AH. Popular power sport applications that this battery fits include the Kawasaki Ninja, Honda VT600 Shadow, Suzuki GSX motorcycles, Honda Four Trax and Polaris Outlaw four wheelers.

YTX9-BS vs. YT12A-BS

Did you know that both of these batteries are of the same physical size? There are two distinct but minor differences--Cold Cranking Amps and Amp Hour Capacity. The 12A-BS has 10 amps instead of 8 amps and 175 CCA instead of 135 CCA. That 25% and 30% increase in Ah and CCA is welcomed news. It also means in a pinch you can downgrade to the lessor or upgrade at your leisure! You can definitely use the YT12A in place of the TX9! In fact, MotoBatt figured it out and combined the two part numbers into one battery, the MBTX9U.

Do You Know Your Cross-Reference?

The YTX9-BS part number is used by several brands including Scorpion and MotoCross (stock code M329BS). Power Sonic uses the part number of PTX9-BS. Kinetik, a division of Universal Power Group (UPG), uses the APTX9BS (stock code 43015 or 46069). This new SKU used by UPG replaces the old UTX9-BS part number. You can also find CTX9 used by large distributors such as Western Power Sports, also known as WPS, and Yacht made by Himura.
