When most boaters ask about a 3 bank marine charger they generally tend to have a 24V trolling motor and a 12V starting battery. The three bank charger setup allows for one AC plug and three independent leads to service each battery. Even though the trolling motor has two batteries attached in series to make 24 volts there is no need to disconnect them when charging each at 12 Volts.

To be classified as waterproof these 3 bank battery chargers must have a high ingress rating and most are hermetically sealed. If the latter is true they will carry an IP68 rating. We do offer other 3 bank chargers (follow the the link) that are not water or weather proof. There are some situations where you may not require a water proof charger for your boat. Quick Charge, out of Oklahoma, manufacturers 2 to 12 bank units with each lead producing a max of 10 Amps. The Dual Pro chargers are waterproof, which are also made in the USA, make it real simple to extend your DC cables to match the length you desire in 5ft, 10ft and 15ft increments. This is really handy when your starter battery is up towards the bow of the boat and the trolling batteries in the stern.
