Buy MotoBatt Batteries for your Gold Wing!
The Motobatt MBTX20U has been featured in the Gold Wing Road Riders Association (GWRRA) magazine, Wing World. The feature article titled, Wired Up, lists some 'must have' and useful electrical devices and accessories for all Gold Wing motorcycle owners. But when it was all said and done, the editors listed the MotoBatt MBTX20U (actually the MBTX20UHD which is the black version of the standard yellow colored MBTX20U battery) as a "complete...solid battery, [that] is the heart of your Gold Wing's electrical system." They went on to compliment the brand saying, "It has more than enough power to get the job done" when speaking of the batteries 310 cold cranking amps (CCA) and 21 amp hour capacity (AH).
There is More Than Just The MBTX20UHD
We agree, MotoBatt should be at the center of every bikes electrical system, not just the Honda Gold Wing! Their attention to squeezing high CCA and and high AH capacity into every battery is key to their success.

Long Story Made Short
BMW motorcycle enthusiasts that desire the best for their bike understandably purchased the MotoBatt MB51814 sealed AGM Quadflex battery. Over the past couple seasons, however, they were often left frustrated and discouraged. You see MotoBatt made an error in sizing the MB51814 which replaces the Yuasa 51913 and 51814 conventional batteries. BMW owners that had ABS and required the 51913 battery discovered that the MB51814 was a hair to wide and a smidgen to long. Those that originally required the 51814 conventional batteries (generally the bikes without ABS) seemed to have no issues. Under closer inspection it was determined the OEM 51913 had a slight taper to it making the bottom narrower. MotoBatt did not catch this distinction when they first went into production.
The Long Way Round
It took Ewan McGregor, who played Obi-Wan Kenobi in the prequel trilogy of Star Wars and Charley Boorman who appeared in The Serpent’s Kiss and Hope & Glory, 4 months to travel 19,000

A question was posted over on Bob The Oil Guy regarding battery desulfators and whether or not they work. There were some interesting answers, much opinion and some real life examples of people using these devices. User 3311 must be a battery sales man as his response said "No they don't work. Electrical snake oil..." I would suggest the opposite is true.

Lead-acid Batteries
Although lead-acid batteries have many disadvantages when compared to other types of batteries, these types of batteries are among the most common batteries on the planet. One of the major reasons for the prevalence of lead-acid batteries is their ability to be recharged multiple times. The internal reaction that creates electricity is reversible, allowing a spent battery to be restored to a functional state over and over.
Over time, however, lead-acid batteries lose their ability to hold a charge. This gradual loss of charging capacity is due to a process called sulfation. While discharging, the lead dioxide plates within the battery react with the sulfuric acid electrolyte, causing lead sulfate to build up on the plates. As lead sulfate builds up within the battery, it loses its ability to provide electricity. When the battery charges, the voltage of the charging mechanism causes the lead sulfate to return to its original state. Over repeated charges, however, some of these lead sulfate deposits crystallize and harden, making them hard to remove. These crystallized deposits interfere with the battery's operation, making the battery harder to charge. Eventually, the sulfate deposits

I tend to be outspoken when something just rubs me wrong. I get to a point where I can't keep my mouth shut and feel obligated to share the irritating news as well as the little known truth that makes the story so disturbing. This particular annoyance involves the 12V 35Ah battery. We sell bunches of these mainly to elderly people installing them into their mobility scooters. It is a very popular battery and it fits 60-75% of most scooters (our version is by Universal Power Group; SKU number is UB12350. There are many good brands to choose from besides ours). Here is the rub that got me angry. I discovered that certain companies (that sell heavily on Amazon) offer these batteries at steeply discounted prices. In-and-of-itself, that is not the issue. The fact is, these example UB12350 batteries are often several years old and were sold to these companies at steeply

Solar batteries are used in conjunction with solar power panels and are usually stored in enclosed locations where venting may not be an option. In this case you would require a virtually maintenance-free type of battery that offers an extremely low chance of mishap. Solar panels are often times mounted in difficult to access or remote locations and you want a battery for your application that will survive the elements and last a long time. So what type of battery do we recommend for use with solar panels? Sealed AGM!
AGM stands for absorbed glass mat. These batteries evolved from gel-type batteries. The glass mat is actually a Boron-Silicate glass mat that is really fine and this glass mat is about 95% absorbed with the electrolyte. Because the electrolyte is absorbed in the glass mat, if the battery is broken, there won’t be any caustic and dangerous leaks. So in actuality, AGM batteries are non-toxic and extremely low maintenance. The reason why flooded batteries are higher maintenance

Johnson Controls Inc. is planning to invest $138.5 million to convert its battery plant near Toledo, Ohio, into an Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) battery facility for start-top and other high efficiency vehicles.
Alex Molinaroli, president for Johnson Controls Power Solutions, said that the company sees the start-stop vehicle technology market growing to 35 million batteries globally by 2015—including batteries not put into new vehicles—with the United States as an important piece of the market. By 2020, JCI projects, demand for start-stop systems in new vehicles will reach 70–92% in Europe, North American and China—essentially supplanting conventional internal combustion engine vehicles.
Johnson Controls’ Toledo investment will add 6 million in AGM battery capacity to the company’s North American AGM footprint by 2013.
Start-Stop is a technology applied to a standard gasoline-powered vehicle that automatically shuts the engine off during idle, reducing fuel use and emissions by 5–12 percent,

Don’t believe all the negative news you hear about travel this year. The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) is predicting that RV sales will increase more than 7 percent in 2011. This would mark the second straight year sales have increased. It also is an indicator that Americans are choosing to travel again and enjoy some of the sites our great country offers!
Richard Curlin, an analyst with RVIA, says the RV market is expected to continue to grow at a reasonably robust pace, especially in view of the overall economic environment. He says factors helping the industry are that credit is more available, jobs and incomes are increasing, and household wealth has improved. But he also the RV industry must be prepared for some volatility.
At Impact Battery, we are also prepared for RVers. We have a large selection of deep cycle, sealed lead acid AGM leak and spill proof batteries for RVs. Our RV batteries are used in class A through C motor homes, fifth wheels and travel trailers.
