How a Group L16 UB63800 Battery Made an Impact

Impact Battery is delighted to play a role in getting Legacy Broadcasting’s new off-grid radio tower up and running by supplying them with sealed lead acid 6 volt deep cycle batteries and cable accessories. Specifically, we are using the L16 sized UB63800 by Universal Power Group as the backbone of their wind powered station tower.

The 89.9 KYMS Story

On a ridge overlooking Lake Pend Oreille on the western edge of the Coeur d’Alene national forest you will find the off-grid radio tower for 89.9 KYMS The Bridge. In 2011 Legacy Broadcasting of Post Falls, Idaho purchased KYMS. The purchase came with a storied past dating back to the 1970’s. In 1975, the then Southern California 106.3 KYMS was one of the first stations to embrace The Jesus Movement. With broadcast artists like Keith Green and Phil Keaggy they helped to influence an entire generation. After going silent in 1995, the call letters have been brought back to life. Today, 89.9 KYMS is the first radio station in the country dedicated to playing Christian Country. Their vision is “to be a bridge helping to unify the body of Christ in the inland Northwest. To accomplish this they feature solid Bible teaching, by both local and national pastors, as well as Christian Country artists playing a variety of Christian Country styles.”

The signal can be received in parts of Eastern Washington, Northern Idaho to the Canadian border, and beyond Libby in Western Montana.
