I was reading an article citing a Fox News Poll that had typical political banter and election year spin. But one section stood out and shocked me! It had nothing to do with the race for the White House and simply asked a Americans what they thought of the Libya situation and how the government responded. Below is the paragraph that caught my attention:

"Almost all Republicans (90 percent) and a majority of independents (70 percent) call the administration’s actions troubling.  For Democrats, 43 percent say “troubling” and 45 percent say it’s “not much of a concern.” Read more: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/10/10/fox-news-poll-53-percent-say-obama-failed-on-economy-libya-troubling/#ixzz28zzT2mXs

We all witnessed that the Obama administration was quick to blame or label this attack as a "spontaneous reaction" to some nimrods anti-Islamic video posted online. They went on numerous talk shows immediately following the attack and expressed this view repeatedly. A couple thought this was a little far fetched, but few out right questioned it. As facts started coming to the surface a different picture was unfolding, yet the administration stuck to its statements. Now several weeks later it is very apparent that the original narrative was a lie or at the very least a failed coverup.

Here is where I am left in a state of disbelief. Now that the truth has come to light and we can all see that we were mislead, how is it then that this revelation is "troubling" only to the so called Republicans and Independents? An overwhelming majority of them find this troubling, while a minority of Democrats see it the same way. In fact nearly 50% see no issue with the administration not doing more to protect our citizens and have no issue with being lied to. I'm sorry but that scares me! Around 30% of our population seems to think it is acceptable to be lied to.

When you walk this out, the implications of this reality are frightening. Rather than me share what I see these numbers saying I want to here what you see in these numbers? All I know for certain is that I could never get away with that and if people deliberately mislead me I lose trust and respect for them and try to limit my interactions with them. Would you repeatedly buy a battery from me that I told you had a five year warranty when in fact the manufacturer indicates it has only a 2 year warranty? At some point would you find this troubling? Would you stop buying what I'm selling? Of course you would! So why should we keep buying what our current administration is selling?
