MotoBatt at a Glance
MotoBatt motorcycle batteries have been a premium offering since they debuted 2009. Designed to replace original equipment (OE) batteries made predominantly by YUASA INC, Motobatt battery has taken the powersport industry by storm. Their initial goal was to reduce the staggering amount of confusing OE part numbers by introducing a single sealed AGM non-spillable battery as a replacement. This feat is accomplished by utilizing detachable spacers, patented QuadFlex terminal technology, terminals that are tapered internally to guarantee a locked fit and Power Balanced performance.
They were successful in reducing 184 OE parts (at that time) down to just 32-part numbers.
Their popularity keeps growing. MotoBatt has become the leading aftermarket producer of power sport batteries in several key regions around the globe.MotoBatt was the first and only company to produce a sealed leak free Absorbed Glass Matt (AGM) battery for the famed ‘T’ shaped battery found in older Honda

Electric vehicles are becoming more and more of a common sight on the freeways and in our parking lots as they are more affordable than ever before. Not only are the prices becoming comparable to the traditional gas-powered vehicles, but they are also competing in terms of performance. Electric vehicles can drive further and faster thanks to the big jumps made in battery technology in recent years, so buying an EV is no longer a sacrifice made only by the environmentally conscious. If you’re in the market for an EV, you’ll want to be sure the model you choose is able to suit your lifestyle, and one of the biggest factors to consider is the EV battery.
Types of EV Battery
The most common type of battery found on modern EVs today is the Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) battery: which uses a compound called lithium-cobalt oxide. The older Lead Acid battery is cheaper as it uses lead and sulfuric acid. These batteries are cheaper than Lithium-Ion batteries but have a shorter life. Very old electric

I was doing some research the other day and came across an article that sounded promising. The blog article “Make Your Battery Last” dealt with proper maintenance for motive batteries installed in lift trucks, forklifts, and electric pallet jacks.
However, as I got deeper into the writing, I began to suspect the article was written by a paid guest; an outsider to the industry. It started to have a regurgitating-freshly-learned-information feel, rather than one that came from an experience-based authority on the subject. I grew uneasy when I read: “each charge costs a cycle” in a section talking about opportunity charging.

Australia’s Outback is one of the least hospitable regions in the world. When you’re traversing such a vast and diverse landscape amid deadly heat you must rely on your deep cycle backup battery for survival. North America’s terrain and weather extremes are no different boasting some the worlds fiercest winter weather. When it comes to long term reliability and long-lasting power generation, what brand comes to mind as the best deep cycle battery for the money?
The Landscape for the Best Deep Cycle Battery is Changing
MotoBatt introduced the QuadFlex powersport battery to market in 2009. The standout yellow color, unique 4-terminal design and special attention to balanced-power-delivery made them an instant hit. They are now one of the world’s number one selling aftermarket motorcycle batteries.
Recently, they debuted a new sealed AGM deep cycle line. Targeted towards recreational vehicles and the marine industry, these much larger lead weights are making waves.

Make the Most Out of a Forced [Bad] Battery Decision
Let’s face it, no matter how many times we preach proper battery usage, life gets in the way! We’ve all been there! Like the time when you just arrived at your favorite fishing hole only to discover the trolling motor won’t work. After some fiddling you determine one of the batteries has crapped out.
Under duress, you are suddenly forced to decide whether to save-your-long-overdue-fishing-weekend-extravaganza or to surrender defeat, head home angry and potentially explode on the first person you meet when you walk through the back door. You know what I’m talking about, don’t you?
There is so much to unwrap in that scenario including your overall life attitude, planning and preparation as well as cost / reward analysis. But rather than turning this into a psychology paper on your mental fitness or impulsiveness, let’s focus on one thing: you decide to stay.
Can an Improper Marine Battery Pairing be Salvaged?
So, you’ve decided to stay,

Bassmaster Elite is the highest level of bass fishing in the world. Rick Morris is a 20-year veteran on the circuit. Over such a distinguished carrier he has blown through countless batteries. However, after NorthStar approached him to be a sponsor, things changed. He has come to rely on and trust NorthStar batteries steadfast performance.
Choosing the Right Battery is Not Just for Bassmaster Elites
We have all been out on the water at the crack of dawn where the water is like glass, the fog looks like steam rising off the surface and that distinct loon call echoes across the inlet. It is on days like these we find peace in the northern back-woods.

Lestronic II and other Lester Electrical Chargers are being discontinued as of December 21st, 2018. Lester Electrical has determined the following battery charger brands will be discontinued: E-Series, X-Series, E-Series II, Lestronic II and Manual Timer chargers. There will probably be plenty around the first half of 2019, but thereafter what are your options?
You have two options: Change to Lester’s newer and smaller Summit Series II switch mode charger or stick with a reliable and familiar transformer-based (and USA made) Quick Charge charger.
Summit Series II Replaces Lestronic II Chargers
The new Summit Series II is smaller and lighter compared to the older Lester models and Lestronic II chargers. There are two Summit Series models available: the 650W and 1050W. There will be a 1425W model introduced by 2020.
The 650W model measures 11.30 x 7.17 x 3.64 inches.
The 1050W model measures 10.97 x 9.25 x 4.00 inches.
Compare that to previous chargers measuring 10.25 x 8.70 x 8.75 (and bigger),

Featuring world class venues, incredible prizes and gracious hosts, Energy Products of Madison Heights, MI (Detroit metro suburb) hosted the 3rd annual Battery Fest September 9-10, 2018. These guys know how to throw a party while facilitating meaningful business relationships.
One major difference to this year’s gathering was the inclusion of not only Battery Specialists but of major fortune 500 companies that we knowingly or indirectly serve such as Chrysler, Taylor Dunn, and Central Transport. Having the opportunity to rub shoulders with some of the top business leaders in the world in such an intimate setting was and is priceless.
Starting with a private reception at the Ford Museum Sunday evening and ending with a party deck experience at the Tigers vs. Astros ballgame in Comerica Park, Battery Fest 2018 struck a wonderful balance of business and recreation leading to deeper relationships between vendors, retailers and commercial end users.

How can you tell what's going to be the best marine battery charger for your situation? Not every charger designated ‘safe’ for the maritime environment will be waterproof.
Some are simply designed to withstand the harsh high moisture environment up to certain limits while others will still operate while completely submersed in water. This is where selecting the best charger can weigh heavy on knowing the meaning behind the IP rating.
Understanding the IP Rating
The Ingress Protection Rating or IP rating refers to the degrees of protection provided against the intrusion of dust and water. The first number classifies solids like dust and dirt. The second number refers to water intrusion. Generally speaking the highest number for solids is six (6), while the second digit goes as high as eight (8) i.e. IP68.
A marine battery charger will be assigned an Ingress Protection Rating between 61 and 68. In most boating or damp environment scenarios you need consider no less than a weatherproof or

Celebrating 50 Years: National Trails System and Wild & Scenic Rivers
1968 to 2018 will be 50 years since the founding of the National Trails System and Wild & Scenic Rivers. The Southern Oregon Trail Alliance and Impact Battery want to usher in 50 more years!Wilderness Memories
I can recall leisurely traversing our way towards Mount Hilton high up Canyon Creek in the Trinity Alps Wilderness one morning. We were utterly amazed how a few hours of spring-time sunshine changed the landscape from pleasant trickles of water easily straddled to torrents of water cascading off the cliffs! It was awe-inspiring and brought momentary anxiety as we speculated how best to safely return to base camp.
