BMW Motorcycle Battery Complaints and How to Fix It
There are three major battery complaints we have identified (and now fully resolved) for BMW motorcycle owners. The issues and resource guide described below may help you better address the question of “why does my BMW motorcycle battery keep dying?”
Complaint #1 - Access
The batteries on BMW motorcycles are especially difficult to access. In some cases, you feel like you are dismantling the entire bike just to gain access. This makes it hard for the owner to install and maintain the battery on a regular basis. This hardship is exacerbated when the original equipment battery is of the conventional lead-acid type requiring regular electrolyte level checks.

During the 1st quarter of 2021 MotoBatt will begin to transition away from the QuadFlex battery terminal design. The current terminal design was first introduced in 2010 and will still be used for some part numbers. The affected models with this new terminal configuration include the MBTX9U, MBTX12U, MBTX16U, MBTZ10S, MBTZ14S and MBYZ16HD.
They will change from “C” shaped Quadflex terminal to a fixed terminal on all 4 sides of the battery. Each battery will have 1 set of Block Nut, 1 set of Screws and 2 sets of red and black caps on the terminal.

Peg Perego is a world leader (along with Mattel and the Power Wheels brand) in manufacturing kids ride on toys. They licensed the rights to make replica John Deere Gators and tractors, Polaris four-wheeler’s, and the Ducati Monster motorcycle to name a few. Kids aged 3-7 spend hours driving around the yard pretending to be their favorite racer, movie star, or their own dad working the farm. Inevitably, there comes a time when the fun ends and a new battery is needed in order to keep the peace. Hopefully we will shed some light on your options. Your first and maybe obvious choice is to simply buy a new battery system from Peg Perego or one of their licensed dealers, but as you already discovered (or will soon discover) this option becomes rather expensive.
