Customers have informed us that the 1985, 1990 and 2005 V-Max battery tray is tapered and the MB16AU sealed MotoBatt battery does not fit without modifying the battery tray since the MotoBatt is NOT tapered and ends up being nearly a 3/32" to wide. There is a chance other years may also have this concern. If you have no intention to possibly modify the tray, which is solid, then you may want to stick with the conventional battery.
