This Japlar Schauer golf cart charger is specifically designed to work with Club Car Carts. The hardwired six foot output cord comes standard with the 3 pin round Club Car connector. The JAC1548 features an auto-sensing universal input from 100-240VAC. It is perfect for wet cell, gel and AGM style deep cycle batteries. The JAC1548 is made with a durable aluminum case and has flanges for mounting. It comes with the round three pin Club Car pig tail connector (See related products). This pigtail has a diode that energizes the third pin allowing the charger to take full control of the charging rather than the Club Cars on board computer. On a small percentage of cart models made after around 2006 you may need to install a 10 or 12 gauge jumper wire from the negative terminal of the battery to the negative port on the back of the female receptacle. This wire is included with the charger. This will fully disengage the on board computer (OBC) during charging and allow the Schauer smart charger to have full and optimized control.

FAQs About This Product

Ask a Question

  • I have converted my 2007 club car golf cart to lithium ion batteries. I use two 48 volt batteries connected positive to positive in order to maintain 48 volts. Do you have a charger that will work for me? I currently use the original club car charger.
The OB4815 by Quick Charge can be programed for lithium batteries. Check it out here:

  • All info and schematics I see are for 6 battery 48V..........I have 4 battery 48V Club car 2008....I need to bypass OBC with new charger ......
The method to bypass the OBC is still the same whether there are (6) 8-volt batteries or (4) 12-volt batteries. Find the last battery in the series (battery number four or six) and attach a black wire form the negative terminal to the black wire on the back of the carts receptacle.
    Rate This Answer:

  • When installing the black bypass wire from the negative terminal of battery 6 to the receptacle, are the existing wires removed or left in place at the battery and receptacle?
You will want to disconnect the black wire that leads to the OBC.
