The Quick Charge Select-A-Charge On Board chargers are compact for their power output, and can mount in any direction, especially on industrial equipment.

The Quick Charge Select-A-Charge SCO series On Board chargers are compact for their power output, and can mount in any direction. This is the programmable model, and can be set to five different charge profiles: Lead-Acid Wet (starting & deep cycle), Lead-Acid Gel, Lead-Acid AGM, and Lithium Ion (set at factory).

Often used in these applications: Scissor Lifts, Floor Scrubbers, Engine Standby Generators, Railroads, Pallet Jacks, Electric Vehicles, RV's, Oil Fields, Mining.

The Select-A-Charge is temperature compensating, and features a digital readout for battery voltage or percent of charge. They are vibration resistant, and totally enclosed in a die cast enclosure. The enclosure has an IP65 rating. This means dirt and grime cannot enter and they can withstand a jet of water from a 6.3mm (1/4 inch) nozzle from any direction. They will operate reliably in harsh environments.

The SCO series are energy efficient, up to 25% more so than ferroresonant chargers. Best of all, they are made in the USA. Most of these are built to order in Oklahoma City by the manufacturer, we will indicate if this is the case in the shopping cart.

Selectable Charge Profiles:

F1 - Float: Regulates voltage at 2.3 Vpc. Best for starting batteries, and gel's

F2 - Gas & Timed Shut Off: Batteries are allowed to gas to a maximum of 2.55 Vpc before shut off.

F3 - Gas & Float: Batteries are allowed to gas to a maximum of 2.55 Vpc before dropping into indefinite float of 2.26 Vpc.

F4 - AGM & Float: Includes absorption cycle to a maximum of 2.45 Vpc before dropping into indefinite float of 2.26 Vpc.

F5 - Lithium Ion: Must be pre-programmed at the factory.

Some of the 5 profiles have specific adjustments that can be programmed to fine-tune the charge profile to your specific brand of battery or usage profile. The adjustments are:

  • d0 Standard gassing/absorption cycle. Applicable to most applications (d0 is the default setting).
  • d1 Shortened gassing/absorption cycle. For frequent shallow discharging, or frequent recharging of batteries with very little discharge. Suitable for opportunity charging.
  • d2 Lengthened gassing/absorption cycle. For batteries requiring long gassing/absorption cycles. US Battery, and Full River are two brands that benefit from longer charge cycles.
  • r0 When set to the F2 profile, charge will terminate, and will not monitor the battery (r0 is the default setting).
  • r1 When set to the F2 profile, charge will terminate, and the battery will be checked weekly, if the voltage falls to a predetermined level, the charger will recycle and bring the battery(s) back up.

Many of these units are stocked and available. Some are built to order. The manufacturer currently estimates 1-3 weeks build time. If it is not in our stock the shopping cart will have a notice displayed in red lettering. In some cases we may have the base model available (i.e. 24V 25A) and simply need to change the connector (i.e. 5/16" Rings or SB50 Gray) to what was ordered.
