Works with 72 Volt NEV's(Gem, Ford Think, Zap or Zenn cars) or other 72 volt battery systems. Ideally mounted permanently to keep the batteries in optimum condition and extend battery life. The system should be charged regularly. Can be used to rejuvenate old batteries. Comes with 3/8" eye rings for attachment to the battery terminals. On/Off switch included.

The BLS-72A part number has been changed to the BLS-72N part number. All the features of the 'A' version are included in the 'N' version.

  • What Is Sulfation?

    Sulfation is the buildup of lead sulfate (PbSo4) crystals on your battery plates.

    Contrast image of built up of sulfate crystals on a battery.All lead acid batteries will suffer from the effects of sulfation. It is the unwanted byproduct of the natural double sulfate chemical reaction that generates electricity within the battery. When a battery is in use, the active material on your battery’s plates, lead and lead dioxide, react with the electrolyte or sulfuric acid (H2SO4) to generate electricity. During this process a thin layer of non-crystalline solid lead sulfate is deposited on the plates.

    During charging, this sulfate deposit is supposed to be converted back to lead dioxide and sulfuric acid restoring the battery back to its pre-discharged state. However, the process is not perfect. Incomplete charging or prolonged time left in a discharged state will convert the amorphous (non-crystalline) lead sulfate into a hardened crystalized form diminishing the ability of the battery to reach full charge.

  • This works out of the box with the zenn NEV? We are purchasing a 2007 with bad batteries and need it to run. How many Ah is this battery? (72?)
    This is not a battery, it is a frequency emitting desulfator that uses your lead acid based batteries and or chargers 72 volts to operate. The batteries it is installed on must be lead acid based.

    It runs off the battery bank it is attached to.

  • battery internal resistance is negatively affected with sulfation, does this unit bring it back from say 75 milli/ohm to at least 5 milli/ohm? this is important for good battery AH capacity
    It will help with Internal resistance issues caused by sulfation.
