The new parallel Xtreme charger is unique in that it can only be used when placed in a parallel connection. It is safe to use on small motorcycle size batteries all the way up to giant 8D RV size batteries. Charge 2, 3 or 4 batteries at one time. CANNOT BE USED ON A SINGLE BATTERY; DESIGNED FOR 2 OR MORE BATTERIES CONNECTED IN PARALLEL.

Evaluation and Test
Xtreme Charge®’s unique TEST feature evaluates the battery thoroughly during the initial connection to determine the appropriate charge rate based on its size and condition. It tests the battery continually for as long as it is connected to the charger to maintain the optimal bulk or float charge rate. This TEST step incorporates a “Bad Battery” indication if it determines the battery is faulty and cannot be re-charged.

Maintenance and Bulk Charge
The XC100-P is designed to be a maintenance charger for any type of 12-V lead-acid battery. By imposing only the appropriate amount charge rate, the battery is maintained safely at its proper operating voltage indefinitely. Conversely, if the charger is connected to a discharged battery, its bulk charge capability (2.5 A actual/5 A effective) will re-charge the battery rapidly and safely so it can be put back into service quickly.

Proprietary Charge Algorithms
A proprietary computer-integrated technology measures both voltage and current to determine the appropriate amount of charge the battery is able to accept at any given time. As the pulse and saturation charges improve the battery’s condition, the charge rate may be increased safely to an optimal level. This proprietary algorithm protects the battery from the risk of damage due to overcharging.

Variable Float Charge
PulseTech®’s intelligent circuitry imposes the correct amount of charge rate as determined by the continual evaluation of the battery’s condition. The charge rate may be as minimal as 0.2 A during typical float up to the full 2.5 A for more deeply discharged batteries. This variable float charge ensures optimal charge rate is applied to the battery.

Patented Pulse Technology
PulseTech’s unique and patented Pulse Technology increases the duty and life cycles of any size or type of 12-V lead-acid battery by minimizing the size of the lead sulfate crystals. This allows a battery to accept as much charge as possible. Pulse Technology helps ensure that your new batteries will stay in like new condition while older batteries often improve dramatically. Duty cycles are typically extended from three to five times for all types of lead-acid batteries!

Xtreme Charge is ideally suited for AGM and maintenance-free batteries (from less than 10 Ah to over 150 Ah). The combination of patented pulse technology and proprietary charging algorithm typically allows it to charge these high-performance batteries more fully. It also maintains a safe charge profile for traditional batteries including flooded, fill and charge and gel.   • What Is Sulfation?

    Sulfation is the buildup of lead sulfate (PbSo4) crystals on your battery plates.

    Contrast image of built up of sulfate crystals on a battery.All lead acid batteries will suffer from the effects of sulfation. It is the unwanted byproduct of the natural double sulfate chemical reaction that generates electricity within the battery. When a battery is in use, the active material on your battery’s plates, lead and lead dioxide, react with the electrolyte or sulfuric acid (H2SO4) to generate electricity. During this process a thin layer of non-crystalline solid lead sulfate is deposited on the plates.

    During charging, this sulfate deposit is supposed to be converted back to lead dioxide and sulfuric acid restoring the battery back to its pre-discharged state. However, the process is not perfect. Incomplete charging or prolonged time left in a discharged state will convert the amorphous (non-crystalline) lead sulfate into a hardened crystalized form diminishing the ability of the battery to reach full charge.

  • I have 4 12V batteries in my golf cart. I can see that two of the batteries have sulfate built up on two of the cells. Would this product remove the sulfate and rejuvenate the batteries?

    Yes, this charger can remove sulfate buildup and can restore batteries. However, your 12V batteries are currently connected in series for 48V and the charger you are referring too is a 12V parallel charger. In order to use this charger you would need to disconnect your series connections and rewire for parallel.

    A better option would be to use the on board desulfator pp-48-L or the XC100-P Quadlink kit, which will allow you to charge, maintain and desulfate without having to re-wire your batteries. The 48V desulfator made by BatteryMINDer is also and option.

  • I have a mobile battery bank that is (4), 12V 100AH batteries in parallel. Will this charger/desulfator work with a parallel configuration that big?
    The charger can keep up with the natural discharge of a system that large, but is way to small to be used as the primary charger. It is fully capable of desulfating a battery bank that size.
