The TW200 Trailway has been in production for over 35 years and is still going strong! During this span, the original equipment Yamaha TW200 battery has not changed.
Yamaha still uses the same conventional-style, acid-filled YB7C-A motorcycle battery. The desire to install an AGM battery has left riders wanting. Many turn to less-than-ideal solutions.
The YTZ7S is NOT the Best AGM Battery for Your TW200
Some years ago, a TW200 forum user asked if anyone had experience / advice about using an AGM battery for their bike. Specifically, it went on to question if the YTZ7S, despite being physically smaller in every direction had worked for anybody.
Prior to 2023, the only “bush fix” AGM option for your Yamaha TW200 trailway was to shimmy in a YTZ7S battery.
The original equipment battery, Yuasa YB7C-A, and the sealed AGM battery, YTZ7S, are similar in Amp Hour and CCA output. However, the YTZ7S is just not as long. Not as wide. And not as tall.

Innocently typing the search phrase Barbie Power Wheels Battery could turn out to be a lesson in futility. The broad search term will key up several battery options—four to be specific. If you are unaware or not paying attention you could easily purchase the wrong battery.
