Solid DC Charging Performance

These 12V and 24V power supply converters are auto sensing and adapt quickly and safely to changing load demands. There are no switches. The Power Factor Correction design provides efficient utility consumption, operating at a Power Factor of >90% at full load. 3 YEAR WARRANTY

SDC1 Charger Warranty While a warranty is obviously not a design feature, it most certainly is a value added feature. Long manufacturer warranties testify to the quality and workmanship that went into producing the product. It reassures the end user that IOTA Engineering has put their stamp of approval and guarantee behind what you are buying. IOTA warranties all SDC power products in the USA and Canada from defects in materials or workmanship under normal use for three full years from date of purchase. (The regular DLS Series have a two year warranty.)

UL and CUL 458 LISTED

All SDC1 models are UL listed for both the USA and Canada. Underwriters Laboratories (UL) is a world leader in independent product safety testing and certification. Most commercial companies and trades require the use of UL listed and certified products. To gain UL approval the producer must prove the product will perform under specific conditions, comply with regulatory codes and standards, and mitigate specific risks such as fire. All of the products carrying these marks are covered by UL’s Follow-Up Services program to determine that they continue to be manufactured in compliance with UL’s requirements.

There are hundreds of UL standards and some incorporate the standards of two or more very specific UL requirements. UL and CUL 458 standards can be summarized by this statement:

These requirements cover fixed and stationary power converters, power-converter systems, and accessories having a rated nominal input of 120, 120/240, or 240 V, alternating current and a nominal output of 24 V or less, direct current. These converter battery chargers are intended for use within land vehicles where not directly exposed to outdoor conditions, and are intended to be employed in accordance with the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70.

PRODUCT DESIGN

The solid state battery chargers now have a smooth vent free top surface with strategic side vents to maximize air flow cooling while protecting interior components from intrusion of dust or debris. The recessed design provides for easier handling of the converter battery charger when re-locating for temporary or 'shop' applications.

Applications with limited compartment space will be better suited by the SDC units vs. the DLS units as they now have a more compact minimal profile design. The fan has been internalized and utilizes proportional fan control for quiet operation.

SDC1 Series features larger terminal block connections to accommodate size 2 to 16 gauge wire. If you need to change a fuse it is now easier than ever. The holder has been re-designed for quick easy access.

MODULAR CHARGE CONTROL

AmpLife Charge Controller
The SDC1 accessory port allows for simple, snap-in installation of the AL1 AmpLife smart-charge control module. The AmpLIfe controller optimizes battery life and performance with automatic Bulk, Absorption, Float and Equalization charging. To utilize the SDC1 converter as both a power supply and a smart charger you must purchase the AmpLife detachable module.
