MotoBatt at a Glance

MotoBatt motorcycle batteries have been a premium offering since they debuted 2009. Designed to replace original equipment (OE) batteries made predominantly by YUASA INC, Motobatt battery has taken the powersport industry by storm. Their initial goal was to reduce the staggering amount of confusing OE part numbers by introducing a single sealed AGM non-spillable battery as a replacement. This feat is accomplished by utilizing detachable spacers, patented QuadFlex terminal technology, terminals that are tapered internally to guarantee a locked fit and Power Balanced performance.

They were successful in reducing 184 OE parts (at that time) down to just 32-part numbers.
Their popularity keeps growing. MotoBatt has become the leading aftermarket producer of power sport batteries in several key regions around the globe.

MotoBatt was the first and only company to produce a sealed leak free Absorbed Glass Matt (AGM) battery for the famed ‘T’ shaped battery found in older Honda Shadow motorcycles.

They were also the first to create two popular 6-volt AGM batteries replacing the plethora of 6N4 and 6N6 wet models. Having a sealed AGM battery available to install in your newly restored 1960’s or 1970’s Harley, Honda, Yamaha or Suzuki bike is priceless!

MotoBatt has expanded its offerings over the last few years to include more AGM power sport models, SLA Deep Cycle batteries and LiFePO4 lithium pro racing batteries. They also produce MotoBatt branded chargers, testers, and accessories.

MotoBatt Battery Design Update

Some enthusiasts have long trumpeted their frustration that MotoBatt batteries will not fit in some of their bikes. The problem stemmed from the fact that the top of the battery was completely flat. Seems insignificant, right?

New Lid on MotoBatt BatteriesThe original MotoBatt design did not include the ‘dip’ or notch in the plastic found on some Yuasa models such as YTX12 and YTX9-BS. This dip was found on top of the battery on the outer edge between the terminals.

In most applications, this dip was inconsequential and had no bearing on fitment. However, a select few motorcycles used a molded plastic or metal battery hold-down that would not work with a completely flat top battery. The mold fit into this notch to help secure the battery in the tray.

Most bike hold-downs utilize a rubber strap or flat bar to secure the battery in place. In those scenarios riders probably never paid attention to the absence of the notch. However, those that did run across this issue and had no intentions of changing the type of hold-down complained.

Well, MotoBatt listened and began producing a new battery lid on select models starting in 2018. Capacity and CCA will not be affected and will remain at the higher levels when compared to the competition.

2 YEAR WARRANTY Still Offered Exclusively at ImpactBattery.com

All MotoBatt batteries sold at Impact Battery come with an exclusive 2-year replacement warranty. The standard warranty provided by the factory is only 1 year; it used to be 2 years in North America. We saw no reason to reduce the industry leading warranty to keep pace with the rest of the world simply because other countries thought it unfair. Even with the 2-year warranty these batteries maintained one of the lowest warranty rates in the industry! It would be crazy to make the change.

So MotoBatt has granted permission for Impact Battery to continue offering the 2 year warranty.
